The visser group of companies
When we were brought in to take care of this project, our client insisted that they wanted to include both businesses on the same website. We never shy from a challenge.
THE CHALLENGE & GOALS
The Visser Group of Companies is multi-generational agricultural operation that is seeking new customers in the digital age. They had a website built several years ago however it no longer served their purpose as it was not mobile friendly. The client wanted to update to the new generation with a fully responsive website and wanted to intergrate both businesses, the farms and greenhouses on the same website in a way that seperated the two business entities.
OUR GOALS
1.) Create a brand new one page design for both businesses
2.) Simplify the page flow and create a way to display both businesses on the same website
3.) Acquire photos of the greenhouses to improve visuals for the webpage
4.) Increase visitors though better presentation and SEO
5.) Write all copy for the new pages
HOW WE MADE THE BUSINESSES WORK SIDE BY SIDE
Our first hurdle was how best to display both companies and make it easy to transition between the two one page designs. We settled on the use of both logos on both pages with the inactive pages logo saturation filter being adjusted to 0.
The New, Simpler Design
Visser Farms and Greenhouses offered it’s own difficulties, but in the end we feel that we have displayed their businesses with a unique flair and they are ready to bring in new customers with their vibrant design.
Increased Page Visits
Visser Farms and Greenhouses original website did not include any SEO so they would have struggled to appear in web searches. While going through the design process, the mindNET staff did keyword research of their competitors and picked out the best keywords they felt the Visser Group would benefit the most from. As this site is quite new, we have integrated Google Analytics as well to watch how much the traffic will grow and we look forward to the future results.
Project Achievements
Some of our biggest achievements in this project was accomplishing the goal of highlighting both businesses in the design. The original design put all of the emphasis on the farms, and left the greenhouses as more of an afterthought with a small page.
We took some amazing photos of the greenhouses and made sure to really show what makes the greenhouses a special and important part of the business.
In the future, we look forward to watching their traffic exponentially increase as their business becomes that much more successful.
